WHAT IS BLACK HISTORY?
Black History is the record of how people of African & Caribbean descent have shaped the world around them. It includes the cities, nation states, empires and political entities that African / Caribbean people have created. It includes the art, literature and cultural heritage they left behind. It is also the record of African & Caribbean resistance to being conquered, dominated and discriminated against. There are lots of activities and educational opportunities happening throughout the month for us all to celebrate and reflect on Black History together. You can find details below, or why not visit a Havering Library (https://www.havering.gov.uk/info/20039/libraries) to check out their Black Stories Matter displays, or see their BAME book features and review on their Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/HavLib).
