What is The Prince’s Trust?

Barking & Dagenham College works in partnership with The Prince’s Trust to deliver the Team Programme.

It is designed especially for young people to help uncover their hidden talents, help empower young people to make the right choices about their future.

Students will work on a range of community projects and undertake work experience accredited employability and skills qualification


Achieve Programme

If you're a 16-25 years old who isn't currently in employment or education and are looking for new opportunities and experiences, The Prince's Trust Achieve Programme could be perfect for you.


An 8 weeks online programme that offers flexibility in where and when you learn.

A Level 1 certificate in personal development and employability skills.

A great stepping stone for anyone wanting to get back into education of for those who would like to build back their confidence before returning to the classroom. 

Aimed at empowering young people to be independent. Build confidence and develop self confidence in a supportive environment with clear next steps

Where can this Programme lead?

This course can lead to learners gaining enough skills and desired courses at the college or help them progress on to The Prince’s Trust Team Programme which helps them further develop these skills and provides them with the knowledge to hopefully gain employment.

Explore (16-25) 

Explore is a 5-week personal development programme which offers young people group activities and one-to-one support to help build confidence, get motivated, meet new people and identify and achieve their goals. The Explore sessions cover health and wellbeing, employability skills and leadership opportunities.

Get Started with Media with NBC Universal (18-25) 
Are you 18-25 and living in London? Get Started with Media is a course that will give you the chance to learn more about the world of media and give you an insight into NBC Universal. After the programme you have the opportunity to apply for NBCUniversal internships in a variety of sectors including marketing, production, content management, research, finance, business and many more. Additionally, several of these roles will be ringfenced and only young people who complete Get Started with Media will be eligible to apply creating a great opportuning for young people to get their foot in the door!

Get Into Customer Service with bp (18-30) – London (Bromley, Orpington, Eltham, Lewisham, Croydon, Greenwich, Tooting and Wandsworth)

The Princes Trust and bp has a brand new programme with employment opportunities. Meet new people and learn new skills as well as gaining amazing work experience and access to live part time and full time vacancies! Includes on-the-job training including customer service and money handling in a local bp store with regular feedback and guidance via a dedicated buddy. 

Travel, lunch and uniform provided on the programme.

Main Programme: Monday 4th October – Friday 15th October 2021

Interested in a career in Hospitality and Culinary Arts? (16 – 30) 

Put your cooking skills to the test, meet new people, learn some new skills in the kitchen and gain a qualification to help build your career in the sector! The 2 week taster session will help you learn your way around the kitchen and at the end of the taster you may have the opportunity to enrol in a 3 years paid apprenticeship with the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts.
