Theatres beyond the stage - Community focus group - 9th & 10th June - £50 amazon voucher for participants
By Queen's Theatre on 06/06/2022
The Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch is currently collaborating in partnership with The University of Essex on a project that explores the recovery of theatres as placemakers in the East of England. This research is being carried out by Professor Rosemary Klich and Dr James Rowson. We are looking at the role of theatres in creating a sense of place for local communities. We are aiming to try and better understand the role regional theatres in the East of England play in providing social spaces and community hubs, how this provision has been impacted by the pandemic, the challenges facing audiences at this particular point in time, and best practice in terms of digital content provision and audience access.
We are currently organising a series of focus groups to discover how the building serves as a community hub. They will take place on Zoom on Thursday 9 June at 5pm, Thursday 9 June at 6:30pm and Friday 10 June at 6pm. They will last about an hour and all participants will be provided with a £50 Amazon voucher for their time. We are keen to hear from people even if you’ve never attended a performance at the theatre before.
